I've written another submission for ae_match. This is the cheating fic I've mentioned a few times on twitter, and eventually decided to write as a one-shot rather than a longer fic. You can read it over at the original posting, or read it right here below the cut.

Summary: These moments, these secret meetings -- they’re borrowed, Eames knows this. He’ll take it if it means he gets to taste Arthur, to have him say Eames’s name like he can’t help it escaping him. He’ll take any scraped out time he can get just to feel Arthur’s hungry hands on his body.
A/N: The title is from the Barenaked Ladies song “The Wrong Man Was Convicted”. The full lyric is: If I’m again beside your body, don’t tell me where it’s been. It’s cruel unusual punishment to kiss fingerprinted skin.

I was incredibly privileged to be part of an awesome project for ae_match with neomeruru. She drew a stunning image that was dark, violent and open to multiple interpretations (all of which made me fall in love with it, in addition to it being a beautiful piece of work). Her only request for the fic was that it remain ambiguous.

Three authors worked on fics for it, including khasael and hazelwine. That's the part the really fascinates me about this project -- all three of us had the same source image and the same instruction, with three very different results.

My totally informal author's note: The urge to flesh this whole thing out and tell a complete story was fierce. I tried not to have any preference for which interpretation was correct, and aimed to keep it completely ambiguous. This resulted in something rather more like poetic prose than I usually write. It's also fairly short to preserve the impact of this moment of voyeuristic uncertainty.

(This has also inspired me to write a longer fic with quite a dark premise. Stay tuned for that one.)

Summary: Arthur is Little Red Riding Hood, Eames is the Wolf. This story loosely follows the fairy tale premise and contains a few nods to some lines from the source material. Aside from that, it's about Arthur, stories, and figuring out what we should really be afraid of.
Beta: night_reveals who has my everlasting devotion because there's beta'ing, and then there's beta'ing. All remaining flaws, both inherent and surface, are mine and mine alone.

I finished something! It's little and contains no porn, which is in direct contrast to my next post which will be much longer and contains explicit porn. I should have that one up in the next couple of days. In the meantime, here is something angsty but hopefully sweet enough.
