It would be interesting to write from Eames's POV on this, actually. Actually, it's funny. When I first conceived of this, I only had the scene in mind where Arthur approaches a sleeping Eames and Eames grabs his wrist. I had kind of thought of that from Eames's POV or an omniscient one, but certainly not Arthur's. But since Eames was the mysterious drifter, I switched to Arthur.
Anyway, I'm very glad you found this one interesting. I'd love to explore this whole drifter/con man thing further and develop it beyond this single scene. I actually consider it the alternate setting-that-never-was for the serial killers fic which is in full swing. (Full disclosure: this story was written in a day; I might have had more sensitive handling of dynamics given more time. /o\)
