Thank you so much! They are damaged, and make some poor life choices, but that doesn't mean that they can't love. I think there are parallels with Bronson here, in that their capability for violence isn't really explained, or even fathomable necessarily. But they are people and are touched when they experience a connection with another person. I like to think their love is this one pure, good thing. Not redeeming their lives, exactly, but offsetting it, maybe.
I can't even tell you how glad I am you liked this story. I was so worried I'd write something you didn't like, and then you'd be stuck making art for it. But I'm so happy with how everything turned out, especially your art which I think added several dimensions to what I put on the page.
